Workplace Violence Prevention in California
Course Description:
Workplace violence is among the top leading causes of workplace fatalities, and there are thousands of nonfatal, violent, on-the-job incidents each year. Workplace violence can occur at any business or workplace, and anyone can be a victim. Therefore, it’s important for employees to know how to prevent these incidents and what to do if they encounter a potentially violent situation at work.
Compliance:
Employers are required to provide an opportunity for interactive questions and answers with a person knowledgeable about the company’s safety policies and practices during this training. Employees are encouraged to write down any questions they have while taking the training. For instructor-led training: There will be a Q&A session after the training. For eLearning: Employees can reach out to their supervisor, who will direct them to the designated person to ask their questions. Employers are also required to provide employees with a written copy of the company’s workplace violence prevention plan at the time of hire and annually thereafter. Before starting this training, employees must ensure they’ve received a copy of the company’s workplace violence prevention plan. Employers must also provide employees with site-specific information to supplement this training.
