Passenger Van Driver Safety

Course Description:

Passenger vans are frequently used in health care, hospitality, education, and by nonprofit organizations for the transportation of 12 to 15 people. These vehicles are convenient and relatively affordable to maintain. However, they also pose unique safety risks, so anyone who drives a passenger van must be properly trained to recognize the hazards, carry out pre-trip inspections, and follow defensive driving and rollover prevention policies.

This course provides passenger van drivers and their supervisors with the information they need to safely transport passengers with minimal risk. The course covers potential federal and state regulations, hazards specific to passenger vans, loading and inspection best practices, and safe driving and handling techniques.

Additional training is required if the passenger van is considered a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).

Course Duration: 30 minutes
