Hazardous Waste Introductory Training
Course Description:
This training course covers the principal elements of the regulatory requirements for how generators and treatment, storage, and disposal facilities, or TSDFs, must manage hazardous waste in the workplace. The course describes the different types of hazardous waste and how they must be identified, stored, inspected, and documented, as well as the actions workers should take to protect themselves and the workplace from the dangers of hazardous waste.

- At the completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
• Identify hazardous wastes as characteristic hazardous wastes, listed hazardous wastes, or universal wastes.
• Choose appropriate waste containers for storing and shipping hazardous waste and properly label these containers.
• Distinguish between central and satellite accumulation storage areas and their requirements.
• Recognize the role of hazardous waste manifests in documenting the safe and compliant transport of hazardous waste and keep accurate records of your managed wastes.
• Protect themselves from hazards by following best management practices, or BMPs, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, or PPE.
• Respond effectively to emergency spills or releases of hazardous waste.
