Hazard Communication and GHS: What Supervisors Need to Know

Course Description:

This session discusses the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s, or OSHA’s, Hazard Communication, or HazCom, Standard.

The standard, which is also referred to as the worker right-to-know standard, makes sure that you know all about the possible dangers of the hazardous chemicals used in your workplace and gives you the information to protect yourself from those hazards. Your employer is required to provide you with this information, and as a supervisor, you must ensure that employees are properly informed and equipped to deal with the hazardous chemicals they use in their jobs.

During this session, we’re going to talk about how to recognize hazards, how to protect yourself, and how to interpret critical information designed to make your workplace safer.
